We explore the thoughts of artists and music sharing. In today's digital age, discovering new music has become more accessible than ever due to online platforms like Spotify, SoundCloud, and download services such as Beatport. While traditional methods of exploring music, such as visiting record shops, have diminished in popularity, the process of musical exploration remains significant and enriching, especially when one encounters a standout track. For performing artists, the quest for fresh music is a continuous endeavor, often regarded as equally important as the performance itself. This raises an interesting question: is it appropriate for artists to keep the details of their music sources confidential? This topic invites further discussion from some of the South West DJs and producers on the nature of music discovery in the modern landscape.

Seeing the music industry shut overnight for such a period was a shock.

Hi, great to have you featured - please introduce yourself to our readers.

I've been on the club and rave circuit since the late 90's and been a professional nightclub dj since 1998. I'm currently a resident Dj for Everyone events, and will be playing again here in Cornwall for super club brand Cream later this year at Falmouth Pavilions.

Talk us through how you filled your time during the lockdown.

The last year had been a wild ride like everyone else. Seeing the music industry shut overnight for such a period was a shock. With everything still an unknown till the summer it's been hard to see an Industry I grew up working in be torn apart by the virus. I've held down the day job for the last year to keep the bills paid so I guess I've been one of the lucky ones. I hope this last year can be a lesson to us all. What it would be like for us not to have pubs bars, and club's. After the lockdown going out should be the new staying in. Making friends face to face and socialising away from the internet must become the new norm.

The past year I've been finding myself more and more progressive flavours.

Describe your DJ style.

If I have a style I guess you would put me under the house category for DJs. I've been know in the past to drop hip hop, garage, drum and bass into sets. It all depends on what the club's feeling. I try not to pigeon whole what I do. The past year I've been finding myself more and more progressive flavours.

Talk us through your Podcast Mix track selection.

The podcast I've put together for you has a mix of tech house from the last year and revamps of some absolute classics from clubbing's peak in the late 90's. Last year saw the release of so much great music that never reached the dance floors. I have a great feeling that once the club's are back open every track we here will be an monster. The end of the mix see's a great remix of Frankie Goes to Hollywood.
