We explore the thoughts of artists and music sharing. In today's digital age, discovering new music has become more accessible than ever due to online platforms like Spotify, SoundCloud, and download services such as Beatport. While traditional methods of exploring music, such as visiting record shops, have diminished in popularity, the process of musical exploration remains significant and enriching, especially when one encounters a standout track. For performing artists, the quest for fresh music is a continuous endeavor, often regarded as equally important as the performance itself. This raises an interesting question: is it appropriate for artists to keep the details of their music sources confidential? This topic invites further discussion from some of the South West DJs and producers on the nature of music discovery in the modern landscape.

I've been lucky enough to have played alongside people who I consider some of the greats, Sister Bliss, Neil Barnes & Phil Hartnoll and loved every minute.

Hi Frank, it’s been too long! Please introduce yourself to those unfamiliar with your DJ life.

I've been DJing for over 25 years starting off at house & beach parties to now playing larger events like Glastonbury, Boardmasters & The Masked Ball. I've been lucky enough to have played alongside people who I consider some of the greats, Sister Bliss, Neil Barnes & Phil Hartnoll and loved every minute.

Talk us through how you filled your time during the lockdown.

I work in events as a Stage Manager, Artist Liaison, Crew & DJ so 2020 has sucked. I've basically been trying to make ends meet by getting whatever work I can. Fun times haha. Fingers crossed next year will be the complete opposite.

Describe your DJ style.

Old school, I like to take people on a journey. I've played all kinds of dance music over the years, techno, breakbeat, house & reggae, I love it all.

This mix is me at my most hectic, lots of hard techno & acid. I love losing myself in the dark side.

Talk us through your podcast mix track selection.

This mix is me at my most hectic, lots of hard techno & acid. I love losing myself in the dark side. It pretty much sums up how this year has been for me. It a mixture of wanting to shout loud how rubbish this year has been but also the how up for a proper mad, all out party I am.
