Dave Clarke is a staple name in the electronic dance music industry with an association with techno and even being branded 'The Baron of Techno' by the late John Peel. He has expressed disappointment with venues and DJs opting for money before safety.

In a relatively long social media post Clarke refers to those operating unsafe events as 'f****** idiots' and makes the link between events advertising that no face masks are required entering lockdown weeks later.
