We explore the thoughts of artists and music sharing. In today's digital age, discovering new music has become more accessible than ever due to online platforms like Spotify, SoundCloud, and download services such as Beatport. While traditional methods of exploring music, such as visiting record shops, have diminished in popularity, the process of musical exploration remains significant and enriching, especially when one encounters a standout track. For performing artists, the quest for fresh music is a continuous endeavor, often regarded as equally important as the performance itself. This raises an interesting question: is it appropriate for artists to keep the details of their music sources confidential? This topic invites further discussion from some of the South West DJs and producers on the nature of music discovery in the modern landscape.

Drop 6th Birthday In Falmouth

March 29th 2019 | Mangos, Falmouth

A poster for sweet la sublime recordings influx radio

South West club night promoters, 'Drop' are celebrating 6 years of being responsible for some of the best house music nights across Cornwall. Drop launched their club nights six years ago in St. Ives and have since toured all over Cornwall. On March 29th Drop will celebrate their 6th birthday at one of Cornwall's flagship music venues, Mangos!

What their social media says:
We are massively stoked to be back at Mangos Falmouth once again and this time it's just that little bit extra special as we celebrate our 6th Birthday!!!

Over the last 6 years we've put on events and club nights at some of the best clubs and venues all over Cornwall.
From what was supposed to be a one off event at the Isobar in St Ives, we then decided nearly 8 months later that there just weren't enough House music events in Cornwall for our liking so we launched Drop officially at the Sandsifter near Hayle, with our inaugural party taking place in the grounds of the Sandsifter in the incredible bespoke mobile nightclub, the Aurora Cornwall UFO!

We've hosted parties all over Cornwall and now we have found or home at Mangos Falmouth, which we absolutely love!

So as it's our birthday we thought it only right that we bring a very special guest all the way down to Cornwall.
We are very pleased to bring you...

SWEET LA - Sublime Recordings // Onefold Records // Influx Radio

Sweet LA are a production outfit from made up of Garry Brookes, Paul Bown and Shawn Keys. Starting out 4 years ago, with their knowledge and background in House and Breakbeat styles Garry and Paul, the then duo, were signed to numerous quality record labels. In 2013, as the groups style developed, Shawn Keys was invited into the fold. With a more crisper edge to their engineering and Shawn's background in electronic music and trance adding another key element to the group, the guys have gone on to release with labels such as - Sublime Recordings, OneFold Records, Conkrete Digital, Mjuzieek and King Street to name but a few.

Drawing on their many influences from Inner City to Steve Lawler via Georgio Moroder and Nile Rogers, these guys are absolutely on fire right now with record labels clambering for some of the Sweet LA goodness!
