We are pleased to introduce IOWLA - some may also know him as Myles Diverse. This mix breaks the routine with a deep journey of broken beats. We catch up with IOWLA who says he's started his own label!
Hi, Please introduce yourself to those unfamiliar with your DJ life.
Hello I’m IOWLA, most of you know me as Myles or Myles Diverse. I’ve been playing / making bass music in and out of Cornwall since circa 2007.
Describe your DJ sound.
Electronic / experimental / bass / half time / dubstep / drum & bass and anywhere in between.
Tell us how you have kept busy during the last year or so of lockdowns.
I’ve gone back to my roots and started fully appreciating broken music again. There’s not much of a scene in Cornwall but I’m really enjoying it again so 6 months ago I decided to start my own label.
Talk us through this podcast episode and why you have chosen to include the tracks that have made the cut.
It’s a mixture of everything I’m into at the minute. Starts off deep and murky then heads into some 140 dubstep, breaks, electro then heads towards half time drum & bass ending with some deep rollers. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea but this style of music really excites me and I’ve always felt it’s home.
