The UK Government has announced early details of a support package totalling £2.25 million to secure the futures of up to 100 nightclubs and live music venues. The news follows that of a £1.57 billion support package for the 'arts' which include museums and theatres.
Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden confirmed funding to the tune of £2.25 million will be used to ensure the future of up to 100 venues and nightclubs across the UK can apply for grants between £1000 and £80,000 if eligible.
The Arts Council has issued a statement indicating that funding is available for 'venues whose main function is to present live music events for a public audience in the grassroots part of this sector'.
The application window for venues to apply for support is now open - the exact window for applications is July 25th 2020 and August 3rd.
