...I have also thrown my electronic music diversity and eclectic taste into the remix and production arena.
Please introduce yourself to those unfamiliar with your DJ life.
I’m Greg Zizique, probably best known or remembered for being a resident at Dance Academy in Plymouth and then Tranzaction in Truro, Cornwall. Over the years I have ended up supporting a variety of the big names and artists of which most have danced to at home and out on the dance floors.
Internationally, I have played in Beijing, Berlin, Frankfurt, Anaheim, Fort Wayne, Katowice, Lódz, Szczecin, Lublin, Gdynia, Ibiza, and Stockholm. Closer to home I’ve made appearances in Northern Ireland, Bridgend, Cardiff, Cheltenham, Llandudno, London, and Swansea to name but a few.
As well as my DJ experiences, I have also thrown my electronic music diversity and eclectic taste into the remix and production arena. Under my belt are several original tracks and remixes veering towards the more underground electronic music sounds.

...some people have struggled since the lockdowns...
Describe your DJ sound.
Broadly speaking its house music, however I’m used to taking on the task of a warmup slot or closing set. Both require you to adapt and flow with the mood of the crowd rather than focusing in on one niche style or genre specific sound.
Equally you can find me busting out the classics from house to trance and all the good time tunes in between from the better years of electronic dance music. I’ve always maintained adaptability for various set times and floors works best.
What is your view on how the live music and nightlife scene has been shaped since the Covid lockdowns?
I think it’s fair to say clubbers are still making up for lost time after a two-year break. However, some people have struggled since the lockdowns and experienced a kind of lockdown “Stockholm Syndrome” where they’ve just got so routinely used to staying at home and then the desire to socialise is of course very much diminished.
It’s worth noting how it’s not just the pandemic and now faced with the cost-of-living crisis, this is also impeding people’s ability to go out clubbing. All these factors are compounding and having a devastating impact on the night-time economy. It’s likely this is just a short-term bump in the road.
