We explore the thoughts of artists and music sharing. In today's digital age, discovering new music has become more accessible than ever due to online platforms like Spotify, SoundCloud, and download services such as Beatport. While traditional methods of exploring music, such as visiting record shops, have diminished in popularity, the process of musical exploration remains significant and enriching, especially when one encounters a standout track. For performing artists, the quest for fresh music is a continuous endeavor, often regarded as equally important as the performance itself. This raises an interesting question: is it appropriate for artists to keep the details of their music sources confidential? This topic invites further discussion from some of the South West DJs and producers on the nature of music discovery in the modern landscape.

DJ Sundance is producing under the name 'Run Flat' which he has used to create his latest set of tracks under the working title of Trance 2.1. Read below what he had to say about his latest musical offering.

My long term singing partner has had to quit recently because or personal matters and so some of my trance numbers are being written with vocals in mind.

Trance 2.1, working title, is my latest offering from Sundance Studio. As the title suggests it's a trance tune and that's the tip I'm on right now. I do produce house and electronica under the name 'Run Flat' but at this time I'm in love with trance and i'm getting together an album of before it gets sent out to labels. Trance 2.1 boasts a tight bass and kick combination which carries the track with a hypnotic rhythm to keep it pumping. Layered with searing pads and strings before the introduction of the spaced out flute like lead melody.

My inspiration comes from a classic and modern love of Trance per se. Giuseppe ottaviani is a modern world class Trance producer of our time and my god can he produce some amazing, beautiful Trance melodies and chord progressions. Classically trained from the age of four he uses his knowledge of music and combines it with Trance productions. Listening to his ability makes you realise just how little you know sometimes. But like him and a few others such as Craig Connelly, Katty Heath, you can't but help get inspired by these top producers and sounds they create. Especially the vocal versions, so incredibly uplifting and euphoric.

My long term singing partner has had to quit recently because or personal matters and so some of my trance numbers are being written with vocals in mind. If there are any singer song writers out there then please get in touch.

I love to produce uplifting and pumping trance with hooks and melodies. It takes me a while as i'm not a keyboard player - writing complex melodies and chord progressions takes time and understanding. No other dance music genre is as complex as trance construction or requires such a level of music understanding. So you have to have some music knowledge for it to work well.

Over the years producers I admire and influence me are vast! Ranging from classic producers such as Tiesto, Fatboy Slim, Sean Tyas, Paul Van Dyke up to Mr Ottaviani, Eats Everything, Saytek, Craig Connelly, Soloman, Patrick Topping, the list goes on. Top producers at the top of their game.

At the moment all my new tracks remain private for the record labels. They wont sign a track if it's been made public.

Past catologue of my older material is on my soundcloud page and on all streaming services. soundcloud.com/djsundance
