We explore the thoughts of artists and music sharing. In today's digital age, discovering new music has become more accessible than ever due to online platforms like Spotify, SoundCloud, and download services such as Beatport. While traditional methods of exploring music, such as visiting record shops, have diminished in popularity, the process of musical exploration remains significant and enriching, especially when one encounters a standout track. For performing artists, the quest for fresh music is a continuous endeavor, often regarded as equally important as the performance itself. This raises an interesting question: is it appropriate for artists to keep the details of their music sources confidential? This topic invites further discussion from some of the South West DJs and producers on the nature of music discovery in the modern landscape.

Sundance Epic Trance Mix

Episode 12/19 | Sundance | Podcast Mixes

A little south podcast mixes sundance episode 12/19

We are really excited to be able to present a brand new podcast mix from Sundancewho has mixed a slick trancesession for us. Sundanceis back playing what he loves and this really shines through during his DJ mix. We think this mix really captures his passion for the genre.

Sundance says

Hi and thanks for the invite back to create another podcast for Little South.

Since my last podcast I’ve been busy running Boxx Night Club in Helston. That has taken most of my time. I’ve had a couple gigs outside of Boxx up at Carlyon Bay St Austell dj’ing for the Off Beat Bar. Such a great venue, right on the actual beach itself.

Back in February we had Mr Traumatik come down for a live Drum n Bass night, Boxx got packed out for that and was such an exciting gig! We are looking at other artists in the coming future, P Money, Sean Tyas, Dave Pearce, Ministry of Sound but name a few.

Also, I’m excited to be back in the studio with an all new set up and a purpose-built construction being built to house it all. After a seven-year gap it’s so good to be back writing again. I had such a great time back then producing and working other great artists musicians & singers. We performed many live PA’s then, Poldark Parties Wendron, Exit Kernow St Agnes, SAS Ball St Agnes, and various others. So, I’m teaming up with new singers and writing some fresh new productions and hopefully drafting in other musicians and making collaboration over time.

All the back catalogue of my productions can be found on my Soundcloud page.

Contrails is a mix I’ve been so excited about creating that I hope you get as much enjoyment out of it when listening as I did when it was conceived.

The trance tracks within in this mix are simply wonderous and totally euphoric it makes the hairs on my entire body stand up. With the resurgence of trance back in the consciousness of the people injecting pure euphoria, emotive heavenly breakdowns, melodic hooks to die for, all carried on a pumping uplifting four to the floor beat of energy, it’s hard to stop it.

Trance took a bit of a back seat over the last several years or so. Especially with the Tech House movement dominating the decks. But I think that’s about to change. Trance sounded the same and the sounds being used just didn’t do anything other than sound irritating. But now it’s back to produced tracks that have structure and journey built into them with some of the most important melodists since the early trance of the late 90’s and early 00’s. Italian producer Giuseppe Ottavianiis one of the most prominent, in my opinion, at this time. A fantastic musician who understands the importance of harmony and melody along with the four to the floor pulse.

This episode is a 16 track 90 min total epic euphoric trance mix that I hope takes you a journey as I intended it to do. The journey starts with a few mesmerising vocal stunners before dropping you into the energetic musical transcendental instrumentals that are so euphoric it’s like music cocaine! Then we bring you back for a breather before it’s nonstop out to the stratosphere.

These are all new tracks and one special not released promo of Mr. Ottavianiwith a few slightly older ones from a few years back that deserved an airing.
