We explore the thoughts of artists and music sharing. In today's digital age, discovering new music has become more accessible than ever due to online platforms like Spotify, SoundCloud, and download services such as Beatport. While traditional methods of exploring music, such as visiting record shops, have diminished in popularity, the process of musical exploration remains significant and enriching, especially when one encounters a standout track. For performing artists, the quest for fresh music is a continuous endeavor, often regarded as equally important as the performance itself. This raises an interesting question: is it appropriate for artists to keep the details of their music sources confidential? This topic invites further discussion from some of the South West DJs and producers on the nature of music discovery in the modern landscape.

What the organisers say

The Social Sessions present: The Big One: Mark Knight and Illyus & Barrientos.

Arguably one of the biggest DJs that has ever graced the shores of Cornwall, Mark Knight is the founder of the world renowned ‘Toolroom Records’. His unique style of house and tech has graced the world’s biggest and best clubs: Amnesia, Space, Pacha, Ministry of Sound, Zouk and many many more. He has featured on Radio 1’s essential Mix multiple times and performed at the world's biggest festivals. He is a machine and an absolutely essential cog of the music industry and we cannot wait to have him here to blow the roof off for our very first Social sessions.

Supporting Mark are 2 favourites who also fall under the ‘Toolroom’ umbrella, the incredible:

Illyus and Barrientos. Hailing from Scotland this pair of DJs have remixed tracks for the likes of: Gorgon City, Above & Beyond, MK, Purple Disco Machine, Hannah Wants and Kylie Minogue and had support from DJs like Annie Mac, Pete Tong and Skream.
Their style of chunky but funky tech house will have you up and dancin’ in no time.

This will be the biggest dance event held in Cornwall for a very long time and only the beginning
