We explore the thoughts of artists and music sharing. In today's digital age, discovering new music has become more accessible than ever due to online platforms like Spotify, SoundCloud, and download services such as Beatport. While traditional methods of exploring music, such as visiting record shops, have diminished in popularity, the process of musical exploration remains significant and enriching, especially when one encounters a standout track. For performing artists, the quest for fresh music is a continuous endeavor, often regarded as equally important as the performance itself. This raises an interesting question: is it appropriate for artists to keep the details of their music sources confidential? This topic invites further discussion from some of the South West DJs and producers on the nature of music discovery in the modern landscape.

Lockdown kind of helped me in a way though as I wasn't able to spend any money anywhere which enabled me to pay for my new setup at home.

Hi, please introduce yourself to those who may not already be familiar.

Clapton here, I'm 33 years old, raised in Newquay. I cook things for people for a living, have done since the ripe old age of 19.

What have you been doing during lockdown?

Ha! Well... I spent the first month sat in the sun... drinking... listening to music, yeah I was really unproductive. Got bored of that so I started weight training which I still enjoy to be honest!

Lockdown kind of helped me in a way though as I wasn't able to spend any money anywhere which enabled me to pay for my new setup at home. Every cloud n all that...

Oh and I Grew my hair to an obscene length and made friends with a ball called Wilson. His mood seemed a bit deflated last time I saw him... I wonder how he is.

What gigs should you have played this year?

Quite a few actually! Carlyon bay beach party, office nightclub, some sundown sessions with my brother Will Tingay and a new house night that was being arranged - but I'm sworn to secrecy on that one. Think I counted 21 gigs in total between March and August...oh well. Always next year.

I LOVE Gorgon City, I think they really do have the Midas touch.

What’s planned for 2021?

Well hopefully more than this year! I know that's vague but right now it's hard to really say! There have been some positive conversations about some exciting stuff but my lips are sealed for now until we all know what's going on.

Talk us through your DJ sound.

I try not to have a specific sound if I'm honest. I enjoy so many different variations of house/tech that all have a time and a place in a set or a night. I LOVE Gorgon City, I think they really do have the Midas touch. Everything they do is so well produced, I'd happily play an entire set consisting of their tracks, Camelphat are another act that are first class...Dario D'attis, Josh Butler, Angelo Ferreri, ah man I could go on and on listing artists I love, but I'll always play what I think sounds right at the time.

Talk us through your podcast mix tune selection.

If I'm being completely honest, because I think they're all bangers. I didn't really plan the mix per say. I just freestyled it and let the tracks pick themselves. Hope you all enjoy and I hope to do this again! Big Love.
