Pioneer DJ has been the industry standard for many years and their CDJ is as iconic as the Technics turntables. Being the top dog of the industry means all eyes are fixed when new DJ gear is released. Pioneer DJ is rather conservative with it's hardware upgrades when compared to fast rising competitors such as Denon DJ and Rane. The updated unit, despite a bigger screen and a few visual tweaks has had most of the upgrading to it's internal abilities - it has a blisteringly fast CPU. Those hoping for new features such as 'dual deck' mode will be disappointed though.
The Pioneer CDJ-3000 is a device which users of the previous model CDJ will feel at home instantly. The build quality is solid and materials used are well screwed together. It all feels very much the same and perhaps this is the stance Pioneer want to achieve with their new tech - nothing too different that they lose ground for competitors steal loyal Pioneer fans.
The CDJ-3000 won't be seen in your average home DJ set up for a while and unless a pro-dj, there is little need to have such a set up in your own home. Pioneer has made the updates to the their new device rock solid for performance and industry capable so that their latest offering will be the go to CDJ for professionals working events around the world.
Pioneer say: "This robust unit is powered by a new MPU and packed with specially developed high-quality components and innovative features."
